Annual Commercial Real Estate Week Kazakhstan 2016 held on 19-22 October 2016 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, concluded its work.
During three days there were conducted plenary meetings, panel discussions and case studies related to investment and management of retail, office and hotel real estate.
This event is held for the third consecutive year and is an international platform that gathers leading players of commercial real estate market of Kazakhstan, Russia and Europe, among which are representatives of broker, construction, management and other companies.
In 2016, for the first time in its history, the forum was held in Almaty and aroused great interest from speakers and participants. During the Forum the representatives of professional community gathered to discuss all aspects of infrastructure development of Kazakhstan – from legislation and private-public partnership to problems of commercial real estate management and their solutions.
As part of the event, Andrey Vasyutkin, Head of Research and Consulting Department in Magazin Magazinov, raised the relevant issue of developer’s strategy formulation in the context of retail real estate market saturation: “During the session focused on retail real estate market we shared our experience of work on Russian saturated market and described the development of such formats as outlet centers, retail parks, regional shopping centers, – said Andrey Vasyutkin. – Networking in retail is well developed in Almaty, and that allows developing traditional shopping and entertainment formats, and new formats as well. Thus, Almaty is ranked third in the number of international networks among CIS countries, after Moscow and Saint Petersburg. In general, we agreed that the city’s market is not saturated by new formats of retail real estate. As in many other cities, there are interesting districts and locations that are perspective for developing new projects”.
Representatives of “Almaty Development Centre” JSC, Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and other companies took the floor to make statements.
In addition to the main business program, participants of CRE Week Almaty visited Villa de Fiori and objects of Universiade 2017, including mixed-use complex “Athletic Village”, ice arena “Almaty Arena” and “Halyk Arena” in the framework of the property-tour.
